Sarah Crowner (B. 1974, Philadelphia) received her BA from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1996. She studied at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France, and in 2002, graduated with an MFA from Hunter College, City University of New York. Crowner has participated in exhibitions internationally, exhibiting her work at venues such as the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, Detroit, MI (2017); Near East, Istanbul (2017); Kunstverein, Amsterdam (2017); MASS MoCA, North Adams, MA (solo) (2016-17); Galerie Nordenhake, Stockholm (solo) (2016); Simon Lee Gallery, London (solo) (2016); The Jewish Museum, New York (2015); Casey Kaplan, New York (solo) (2015); Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (2014); Travesia Cuatro, Guadalajara, Mexico (solo) (2014); Walker Art Center, Minneapolis (2013); WIELS, Contemporary Art Centre, Brussels, Belgium (2013); ICA, Philadelphia (2013); Zacheta National Museum of Art, Warsaw, Poland (2013); Museum of Modern Art, New York (2013); and the 2010 Whitney Biennial, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York. Her work is held in the collections of The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, Museum of Modern Art, New York and the Walker Art Canter, Minneapolis.
