Transformer Station is a contemporary art museum located in Ohio City that presents the work of nationally and internationally recognized artists, and engages audiences with innovative experiences through its inspiring and thought provoking events and programming.

Founded in 2013 by independent collectors and local philanthropists Fred and Laura Ruth Bidwell, the Transformer Station has quickly become an anchor for contemporary art on Cleveland’s West Side. Motivated to bring museum-quality works to a historically underrepresented part of Cleveland, the 7,500 sq. ft. facility is a space for contemporary art exhibitions, installations and performances. Exhibitions at the Transformer Station highlight work from the Bidwell’s personal collection in addition to new work commissioned specifically for the museum space.
