Toby’s Plaza is a plaza, brilliantly designed by James Corner Field Operations. Toby’s Plaza explores the contemporary meaning of architectural landscaping, with a focus on developing innovative approaches toward landscape architectural design and urbanism. Toby’s Plaza has three distinctive, yet cohesive areas including: 21,000 sq. ft. open plaza, a 7,400 sq. ft. birch bar, and a 12,000 sq. ft. green space.

Chicago-based artist Tony Tasset has placed his commissioned work, Judy’s Hand Pavilion, on Toby’s Plaza at Case Western Reserve, as a social focal point for the university, and Cleveland’s Uptown neighborhood. The sculpture doubles as a dramatic public shelter and gathering spot, and animates this crossroads as a site of continued programming during the Triennial.

Judy’s Hand Pavillion was made possible and jointly developled by FRONT and  the Putnam Collection of Case Western Reserve University.
